Annual Spring Crawfish Boil

Spring has sprung and it's time to have some fun! Please mark your calendars and join us for a Calvert Crawfish Boil on Sunday, April 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All Calvert Estates residences are invited to join us for free! (Any additional Adult guests are $10.00 and any additional children guest are only $5.00). Crawfish, fried fish and all the sides along with soft drinks, tea or water will be provided. The pool and patio area will be open for everyone to enjoy so bring the kids and let them swim. We also reserved the banquet room to provide for additional sitting, so come join us inside or out for a great time and some great food!

As many of you have heard Southern Pines, aka Calvert Crossings, had to make the painful decision to close its sister course Pine Hills late last year. While this was a very big surprise to all of us in our community, it was felt the hardest by all the residence that live in and around that course. The land that was once a well manicured beautiful golf course is now overgrown and for sale. While the future of that land is uncertain and many of the residence are upset and unsure of what the effects will ultimately do to their home values, it was something that could not have been avoided. Many of the residence around that course did little to support the course that they took for granted for so many years.

The Calvert board has met with the owners of our course and expressed our concerns for Calvert. They have reassured us that Calvert is currently healthy, but are always concerned about keeping membership levels up. To that end, the owners of Calvert Crossing are offering a one-time one month special incentive to all the residence of our neighborhood. If any Calvert Estates resident joins Calvert Crossings in the month of April, Calvert will wave all initiation fees. So if you have ever thought of joining, April is the best time of all. Calvert has many different levels of membership from social to full access. Calvert's pool opens soon, the club house is always hosting special events and serves a tasty Sunday buffet. Some of the owners, and the general manager, Chuck Brazzeal will be on hand at our Crawfish boil to help answer questions, give tours and talk about the many different membership options.

As a follow up to the recycling presentation from at our last home owners meeting, Progressive recycling and trash disposal company will also be on hand to explain the details of their recycling efforts, pricing, pick up times, etc.
